Data Analysis

This section gathers results of specific studies either delivered by AQUASTAT or produced with the contribution of AQUASTAT data.

• The Modelling of global irrigation water use section is devoted to disseminating the outcomes of a specific modelling exercise on global irrigation water use, which has become a reference for a number of significant FAO exercises thanks to its accuracy and robustness.
• The Water and gender section specifically addresses the water-gender nexus in the agricultural sector. It presents case studies conducted to analyse the role of women in the management of water resources with the aim to develop dis-aggregated data and gender-sensitive indicators for integration into AQUASTAT.
