Em dezembro de 2019, a FAO lançou a ação pioneira Global para Controle de Lagartas-do-Exército como uma resposta urgente à rápida disseminação do FAW. A iniciativa global de três anos toma medidas radicais, diretas e coordenadas para fortalecer as capacidades de prevenção e controle sustentável de pragas em nível global.

Complementa e fortalece as atividades em andamento da FAO no FAW. A Ação Global estabeleceu um mecanismo de coordenação global para um diálogo aberto e colaborativo em direção a soluções baseadas na ciência. Também apoiou o estabelecimento de Forças-Tarefa Nacionais sobre FAW e a mobilização de recursos para pesquisa aplicada voltada para soluções práticas e eficientes.

The Directorate-General International Partnerships (INTPA) of the European Commission aims to develop a stronger role for the European Union globally, eradicating poverty, advancing towards the Sustainable Development Goals, and promoting democracy, human rights and the rule of law.

FAO and Norway, working through the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (Norad), have a long-standing partnership built on shared values, goals and global commitments. Norway’s cooperation has been directed towards food security through the eradication of poverty and hunger, including technical development interventions, food and agricultural emergency and rehabilitation assistance.
