Chapter 11 of ETTS V presents base scenarios for the forest products sector as a whole, at the European level, and chapter 12 presents alternative scenarios, also essentially at the European level. Earlier chapters had presented, at the European and country group levels, the outlook for different parts of the sector (e.g. removals, demand, recycling etc.). The objective of this Working Paper is to present, for the use of decision makers and researchers, these scenarios in a detailed and comprehensive format, at the national and country group level, along with some methodological explanations as to how the projections and forecast for different parts of the sector were brought together through the “consistency analysis” framework. The methods and results of the individual sector analysis, notably for the removals forecasts and the econometric projections of supply and demand, are presented in the relevant chapters of ETTS V, and in some cases in other Working Papers.
