The Workshop was held at the SEAFDEC Aquaculture Department facilities in Tigbauan, Iloilo, Philippines, from 27 November to 3 December 1977. This meeting was sponsored as a joint undertaking of SCSP, SEAFDEC and BFAR. Participants included representatives from Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and the Philippines.
The Workshop was strongly supported by institutions and participants from the host country, the Philippines, who acted as resource persons and observers. Particularly strong support was received from the BFAR, the SEAFDEC staff, the UP, the FAO/UNDP regional and national staffs, and representatives of the private sector involved in aquaculture development in Iloilo. The AIT participation in the Workshop planning and proceedings was very valuable.
