On behalf of the ASEAN Project, RAS/84/016, I would like to thank NACA's Coordinator for the invitation to attend this meeting. This gives me the opportunity to interact with the delegations present here, the staff of NACA and the Regional Seafarming Project.
The ASEAN Small-Scale Coastal Fisheries Development Project and NACA/Seafarming Projects have many activities in common. I think that it would be for the greater benefit of all the participating countries in these projects if we collaborate and coordinate in the implementation of our activities. As Coordinator of RAS/84/016 I welcome such collaboration and would be very glad to cooperate with the NACA/Seafarming Project to achieve our common goals and interest in ASEAN coastal fisheries development programmes in particular and the rest of Asia in general.
