GHANA

The aggregate output of cereals in 2004 is provisionally estimated at 1�930�000 tonnes, which is slightly below 2003 and close to the five-year average. The cereal import requirement for 2005, mainly wheat and rice, is forecast at 751�000 tonnes of which about 680�000 tonnes are anticipated to be covered by commercial imports.
