During the field survey it became apparent that, at least from a technical point of view, the fish production could be increased. This would come about through improvements to ponds and, possibly, through better use of feeds and fertilizers. As the data needed to quantify the pond and water situation are relatively easy to obtain, it is recommended that such data be collected in future surveys. The Programme has recently, in the Chipata area, collected data about feed and fertilizer availability. The results of this experience should be incorporated.
