SUMMARY OF COUNTRY CASES

For this study the existing organizations for private forest owners in 17 European countries were surveyed (Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland in Western Europe, and Czech Republic, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Slovenia and Slovakia in Central and Eastern Europe). The country cases are listed in detail in Annex 1, which shows a summary of the organization by country surveyed. These are described using the factors analysed in the previous sections of this paper.
