Under the supervision of the Backstopping Unit of FAO Fisheries Department, the System Manager will be responsible for all the data administration functions needed to promote and install the SIPAL in the participating countries (including training activities).
In particular, he will be responsible for:
Coordinating the SIPAL National Responsibles in the system implementation.
Carry out quality and integrity control of national and international data received, before their compilation.
Supervise the Analyst-Programmer in the system maintenance and data collection and distribution to the region.
Carry out, in the participating countries, training workshops on SIPAL and project analysis tools included.
Obtain, from the national authorities, the necessary approval for using data/information.
Supervise the production and distribution of technical documentation.
Qualifications:
University degree in statistics, or aquaculture/biology.
Proved professional experience in data administration.
Good knowledge of the aquaculture in the region.
Working knowledge (level C) of Spanish and good knowledge of English.
General knowledge of data processing and data analysis methodologies.
General knowledge of microcomputer operation.
Participation in the System development phase will be given preference.
