Objective:
To nominate microproject interest group representatives who will ensure that follow up activities, including meetings among the interest group and with any required technical experts will take place.
How to facilitate:
1. The facilitator explains to the group that the success of the microproject will much depend on their motivation and voluntary active involvement to drive the further planning of the microproject. To ensure that they will be successful as a group, it will be important to nominate or elect a group representative among themselves now.
2. After nominating a group representative the group should agree about the first follow up activities for which the group representative will be responsible.
3. The facilitator should help the group to consider the most necessary follow up activities, which for example could (but don’t have to) include:
Organize a follow up meeting in a specific location to present the microproject to other community members to find out whether more people would be interested in joining the group or would like to form an additional microproject interest group.
Keep a list of names of the interest group.
Organize follow up meetings to revisit the draft plan and to move ahead with the detailed planning.
Agree with some technical woreda experts on a date and time for a follow up meeting to seek their technical advice and help in finalising the detailed planning of the microproject.
Liaise with influential individuals, institutions or the kebelle/tabia committee to seek their support or involvement in finalising the detailed planning of the microproject plan.
