The document is a synthesis of the field research findings on factors influencing the supply and demand of gender responsive technologies to improve rural productivity and economic opportunity for poverty alleviation. The primary outcome of the study is validating with systematic research many commonly made casual observations regarding situation of rural women as well as anchoring the technology needs of rural communities to poverty alleviation programme. Rural Thai women when compared with other developing countries in the region have higher socio-economic status. But the situation of urban women is far superior to that of rural women in Thailand.
