Note: 50 gallons used petrol drums cost about $ 1.00 each. Bamboo is free, rope is about $3 or $4 per coil and a raft could be built in Mauritius for about $5 or Rs 25 and possibly in the Seychelles.

Most of the equipment and materials listed in this report are used for both types of culture methods and may be interchanged and/or combined during the course of the pilot-project operations.

Most of the additional equipment as itemized in this appendix can be provided by Government from supplies already on hand either on a loan or transfer basis, i.e. microscopes, vehicle, skiff, and outboard motor etc. However, some scientific equipment, aquaria etc. not in stock or readily available may be ordered by the expert after his arrival according to specifications provided by him.
