In 1978 and 1979, the CSIRO Division of Forest Research carried out seed collections throughout the natural range of Eucalyptus microtheca. In addition to the announcement on the availability of seed for testing made in FGRI No.9, some 60 countries/institutes were directly approached by a circular sent by FAO in September 1979.
At the end of 1980, seed of E. microtheca had been distributed to 15 institutes in 12 countries, for testing on a total of more than 70 sites.
Some seed is still available for testing. Interested institutes are requested to contact the Seed Section of CSIRO Division of Forest Research (P.O. Box 4008, Canberra A.C.T. 2600. Australia).
