News from IUFRO Working Party S2.02-10, Poplar Provenances
Dr James Eckenwalder, Department of Botany, University of Toronto, Canada and Dr Louis Zsuffa, Ontario Forest Research Centre, Maple, Ontario are developing a three-year programme (1980 – 1983) for selection and gene-pool collection of balsam poplar (Populus balsamifera) and its natural hybrids in N. Ontario, Canada. They have kindly offered to provide, upon request, seed to colleagues in other countries.
