INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP ON PERENNIAL SESBANIA SPECIES IN AGROFORESTRY SYSTEMS

An International Workshop on Perennial Sesbania Species in Agroforestry Systems, was held in Nairobi, Kenya from 27 to 31 March 1989.
The Workshop, which was attended by 37 participants from 15 countries, was jointly organized by the International Council for Research in Agroforestry (ICRAF) and the Nitrogen Fixing Tree Association (NFTA).
The objectives of the Workshop were to assess the present state-of-the-art regarding the biological properties of perennial Sesbania species used in agroforestry systems and to define priorities, methodologies and responsibilities for collaborative research, development and networking.
Workshop Proceedings as well as a practical Field Manual will be available by the end of 1989.
