Universidad Autónoma de Baja California (UABC)

The history of the Autonomous University of Baja California begins in the 1950's when Baja California is recognised as a state of the Mexican Republic and the desire to implement higher education in Baja California intensifies. After several years of examining and promoting the possibilities of founding a university in the state, the Organic Law of the Autonomous University of Baja California (UABC) was promulgated on 28 February 1957, giving official life to this institution.

Instituto de Ciencias Agricolas:
The Institute of Agricultural Sciences of the Autonomous University of Baja California (ICA-UABC) is an entity dedicated to the innovation and development of the agri-food sector of Baja California, created on July 15, 1969, by the University Council of the UABC. The ICA-UABC offers four degree programmes: Ing. Agronomo , Ing. Agronomo Zootecnista, Ing.Biotecnologo Agropecuario e Ing. Agronomo en Agronegocios. As well as three programmes of Posgrado Maestria en Ciencias en Agrobiotencologia en Zonas Aridas, Maestria en Ciencias en Producción Animal en Climas Cálidos y el Doctorado en Ciencias Agropecuarias.
