The Medical Sciences Publishing House, the publishing arm of the National Center for Medical Sciences Information of Cuba, has joined the International System for Agricultural Science and Technology (AGRIS) of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), of the United Nations.

Founded in 1965, the National Center for Medical Sciences Information laid the foundation for the publishing house, which was officially established in 1988, publishing 15 journals and several books annually. The evolution continued in 1992 with the development of the Infomed network, modernizing editorial processes and allowing greater accessibility to scientific information. Since then, Ecimed has published numerous books and consolidated an open-access editorial management system, benefiting researchers and health professionals.

Currently, the publishing house has around 400 records, covering topics such as phytotherapy, fruits, natural flower drying, and soybeans, among others.

The participation of the Medical Sciences Publishing House in the AGRIS network represents a significant step forward in increasing the projection and impact of agricultural research in the region. By joining AGRIS, the institution further highlights the important contributions generated in the field of medical science, applying its editorial knowledge and expertise in a crucial area for the sustainable development of Cuba and the surrounding region.
