Potato harvesters

FAO/Sara Quinn

Potato harvesters are used to dig potatoes from the ground and collect them. Since the 1960s, these machines have saved manual labour, for example children working on the back-breaking task of manually picking up the potatoes. This is an example of how sustainable mechanization can support the agrifood chains, from production to post-harvest operations.
