This manual on safety at sea for small-scale fishers aims to contribute to a culture of safety awareness among fisherfolk, reduce the number of accidents and increase the chances of survival if accidents occur. The Regional Fisheries Livelihoods Programme (RFLP) supported the establishment of a multi-agency technical committee which drafted a national plan for the safety of fishers and fishing vessels at sea for Sri Lanka. The national plan presented in this document was approved by the government.

English version of an illustrated leaflet on a system for reporting accidents at sea. The system was piloted in Cambodia, Indonesia and Timor-Leste with Regional Fisheries Livelihoods Programme support.
