The FAO Representative for Bhutan and FAO Nepal, Mr Ken Shimizu engaged in fruitful discussions with Bhutan's media community during the inaugural Food and Agriculture Reporting Training for Bhutanese journalists. The training, sponsored by FAO Bhutan and co-implemented with the Bhutan Media Foundation, was aimed at deepening journalists' understanding of food systems, agricultural practices, and rural development challenges in Bhutan. Facilitated by experts from the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock of the Royal Government of Bhutan, the program helped reporters write engaging stories that highlight the importance of this vital sector. This initiative offers a unique chance to delve into the human aspects of food and agriculture, tracing the journey from farm to table and capturing the daily realities of rural communities. Moreover, the training serves as a foundation for the Food and Agriculture Reporting Grant and Award, which honors exemplary journalism in this field.
