FAO Brussels is continuing its fruitful interactions with the Portuguese Presidency of the Council of the European Union on various topics, including an FAO Brussels Dialogue on Family Farming scheduled to take place on 14 April.

In anticipation of Slovenia taking the helm of the Presidency starting 1 July and for six months, FAO Brussels is also holding preparatory meetings with Slovenian representatives.  Last week, the FAO Brussels team met with representatives of the Council Coordination Working Party for FAO matters s from the Slovenian Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Food as well as from the Slovenian Permanent Representation to the EU.

The team provided the Slovenian representatives with an overview of FAO’s mandate and the work of the FAO Office in Brussels, while also looking ahead to key milestones in the months to come, among them the United Nations Food Systems Summit.
