European Inland Fisheries and Aquaculture Advisory Commion holds annual management committee meeting

The European Inland Fisheries and Aquaculture Advisory Commission (EIFAAC) held its annual meeting of the management committee. Representatives from Finland, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, and Latvia were welcomed by Nabil Gangi, Deputy Regional Representative, FAO Budapest and Raschad Al-Khafaji, Director FAO Liaison Office with the European Union and Belgium.   

The committee discussed the Thirty-first Session of EIFAAC to be held in Killarney, Ireland, 22-24 June 2022, as well as the EIFAAC International Symposium on “Inland Fisheries and Aquaculture - Advances in Technology, Stock Assessment and Citizen Science in an Era of Climate Change”, hosted by the Government of Ireland on 20-21 June 2022 (EIFAAC Symposium 2022 | Inland Fisheries Ireland).   

Established in 1957EIFAAC's mission is to promote the long-term sustainable development, utilization, conservation, restoration and responsible management of European inland fisheries and aquaculture.
