FAO-DG ECHO: Early Warning, Early Action

01/12/2020

FAO’s Team Leader on Early Warning Early Action, Dunja Dujanovic, briefed EU Directorate-General for European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (DG ECHO) partners on Anticipatory Action corporate work within the context of global advocacy and partnerships. In particular, she highlighted the relevance of anticipatory action in relation to food crises and the work within the framework of the Global Network Against Food Crises.

At the global level, FAO has a number of strategic partnerships with humanitarian, development and scientific organizations which are doing pioneering work to link early warning analysis with early action and funding. FAO closely collaborates with, among others, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, the Red Cross Climate Centre, the World Food Programme and the German Red Cross.
