FAO joins informal board meeting of big private sector alliance based in Brussels

For the first time ever, an FAO delegation participated in an informal board meeting of the International Food and Beverage Alliance (IFBA), the association of the twelve biggest global food and beverage companies which is headquartered in Brussels. Deputy Director-General Beth Bechdol, alongside with members of the Private Sector Unit and FAO Brussels teams, briefed the IFBA Secretary-General, Rocco Rinaldi, and the IFBA members on some elements of FAO’s new private sector strategy being discussed at FAO’s Governing Bodies, in the context on how industry can strengthen its engagement and commitment towards sustainable food systems. New rounds of talks are scheduled.
