Minister-President of Flanders formally opens diplomatic post in Rome

On 25 February, the government of Flanders opened a diplomatic post in Rome with the aim of strengthening the current cooperation with the Italian Government and the three Rome-based agencies. FAO Director-General José Graziano da Silva and the Minister-President of Flanders, Geert Bourgeois held bilateral meetings where they talked about future development initiatives in countries such as Malawi, Mozambique and South Africa. In order to strengthen the partnership, Flanders is willing to allocate more budget for projects in African countries. Both partners will outline more details of the intensification of their collaboration in the near future.
