Non-resident Permanent Representatives and Ambassadors briefed on FAO’s new strategic framework

The FAO Liaison Offices in Geneva and Brussels joined forces and organized a briefing with the Director of the FAO Office of Strategy, Planning and Resources Management, Beth Crawford, to familiarize Rome non-resident Permanent Representatives and Ambassadors with FAO’s new Strategic Framework and its Medium Term Plan for 2022-25.

In his opening remarks, FAO Brussels Director Rodrigo de Lapuerta said, “FAO, under the guidance of the new strategic framework, seeks to prioritize its work to support Member Countries towards the achievement of the Agenda 2030, by promoting food systems that are sustainable, inclusive and resilient and which aim to achieve better production, better nutrition, a better environment and a better life for all.” He also reiterated the importance of this briefing as an opportunity to engage and inform the Ambassadors and Permanent Representatives covering FAO matters and based in Geneva, Brussels, Paris, Berlin, London, Lisbon and Madrid.
