UN Green Deal Working Group

The UN Brussels Green Deal Working Group co-chaired by UNEP and FAO offices in Brussels held this month a very constructive meeting with members of the Cabinet of Vice-President of the European Commission Frans Timmermans. The Cabinet members joined for the first time the informal working group proceedings and gave a brief overview on the progress of this major European initiative, as well as they highlighted working areas that the working group could contribute.

The main objective of the working group is to join forces and find synergies with the Green Deal and its pillar strategies in the achievement of the SDG and Agenda 2030.

This meeting came few days before the celebrations of UN Day during which many European buildings were illuminated in blue.
