Joined by representatives from the World Food Programme (WFP) and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), Laborde's participation underscored the collective effort of the Rome Based Agencies (RBAs) to address pressing global issues.

Laborde delved into key topics among others, including the status of global food security and the intricate interlinkages between agrifood systems and climate change. Laborde highlighted FAO's recent contributions to COP28 discussions, emphasizing the crucial role of sustainable agricultural practices in mitigating climate-related risks.

The session provided a platform for fruitful exchange with representatives of the 27 EU Member States, joined by the delegates of the Working Party of the Council of the EU on International Food and Agriculture Matters (AGRIFAO) and the European Commission.
