2022 IPPC regional workshop: Plant health innovations for food security

Hybrid Event, 05/09/2022 - 07/09/2022

The International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC) is an intergovernmental treaty signed by over 180 countries, which aims to protect the world's plant resources from the spread and introduction of pests, and promote safe trade. The IPPC regional workshops help participants understand the regional phytosanitary realities and challenges, and better integrate these into the IPPC work plan.

Organized in cooperation with FAO, the European and Mediterranean Plant Protection Organization, the 2022 IPPC regional workshop will be dedicated to discuss draft international standards that were submitted this year to the IPPC, and other issues related to preventing the spread of plant pests through human-mediated means, such as international trade in plants or plant products, or through plants moved internationally by tourists.
