FAO Academia Perspectives Roundtable: Accelerating the transformation to sustainable agrifood systems

Hybrid Event, 27/10/2022

10:30-12:30 CEST

Recognizing that achieving a sustainable and food-secure future takes all actors, FAO partners with state and non-state actors, including academia and research institutions. To this end, the Regional Academia Perspectives Roundtable will bring together regional partners and collaborators, including universities, research institutions, platforms, and think-tanks with FAO experts to exchange experiences and discuss new approaches for accelerating the transformation to sustainable agrifood systems.

Objectives of the roundtable are to:

  • Inform on Europe and Central Asia’s strategic focus for transforming to sustainable agrifood systems up until the end of the next biennium (2024–2025);
  • Identify key technical areas of cooperation;
  • Assess new opportunities to scale-up technology, innovation, data and complements (governance, institutions and human capital); and
  • Review and discuss lessons learnt from previous collaborations and apply them as new practices and modalities for cooperation.

By convening the regional roundtable for Europe and Central Asia under the umbrella of the Fourth Annual Academic Perspectives Roundtable, FAO and experts from academia and research institutions will explore new opportunities to collaborate in the context of regional and national challenges for a more sustainable future, leaving no one behind
