FAO Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia

Risk Communication and Outbreak Management Workshop

Hybrid Event, 10/12/2019 - 13/12/2019

The FAO Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia is currently supporting preparedness against two major transboundary animal diseases: the Lumpy Skin Disease (LSD) and African swine fever (ASF). While implementing various project activities, the need emerged with regards to both for capacity building on risk communication and outbreak management with a focus on killing and disposal of animals.

Furthermore, the event, bringing together countries from eastern Europe and the Balkans, will enable experience sharing in the control and eradication of LSD and ASF respectively.

The aim of the workshop is to pass on technical knowledge on risk communication and outbreak management, with special attention to stamping out procedures, killing and disposal of affected animals for ASF and LSD.
