A workshop with the stakeholders on Surveys and Assessments will take place in Şanlıurfa under the FAO – GEF project on “Conservation and Sustainable Management of Turkey’s Steppe Ecosystems” funded by the Global Environment Facility and executed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry.


The aim of the project is to promote conservation of Turkey’s steppe ecosystems through effective management of protected areas and mainstreaming steppe biodiversity conservation into production landscapes. This includes increasing effectiveness of protected area system to conserve steppe biodiversity; mainstreaming steppe biodiversity conservation into production landscapes and establishing enabling environment for the effective conservation of steppe biodiversity across large landscapes in Turkey.
