Project inception workshop: “Small farmers as agricultural innovators for resilient agrifood ecosystems”

The FAO project “Small farmers as agricultural innovators for resilient agrifood ecosystems” aims at enhancing capacities of small-scale farmers in Kyrgyzstan with sustainable, productive and climate resilience practices across food systems with education and innovation of are key entry points to tackle interconnected challenges of agricultural production, food and nutrition security, ecosystem restoration, sustainable livelihoods and climate change. 

The project will strengthen the institutional and technical capacity of national institutions and promote climate-smart practices for priority vegetable and fruits production to increase agriculture productivity and resilience of agriculture sector. 

The project will be implemented in close collaborations with the Ministry of Agriculture and relevant government ministries, national research institutions, seed processers, the private sector, cooperatives and producer organizations and family farmers in the country.
