5 The second Government Consultation on an International Convention for the Control of the Spread of Major Communicable Fish Diseases was convened by FAO and OIE at OIE Headquarters, Paris, France, from 25 to 28 January 1977, at the joint invitation of the Director-General of FAO and the Director-General of OIE. The Consultation was attended by representatives from the following 25 countries: Austria, Belgium, Canada, Colombia, Czechoslovakia, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany (Federal Republic of), Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Venezuela, Yugoslavia and from the European Economic Community; by observers from the European Federation of Salmonid Breeders and from the International Council for the Exploration of the Sea. A List of participants is given in Appendix A to this report.
