PREPARATION OF THIS REPORT

This volume is the revised version of the Draft Report, which was distributed to the participants of the World Scientific Conference on the Biology and Culture of Shrimps and Prawns, in Mexico City, Mexico, 12 to 21 June 1967. The subsequent volumes of the Proceedings will contain the review, regional summary, experience, and species synopsis papers contributed to the Conference. Information papers, circulated as background material, will be excluded.

The views expressed in the papers and reports are those of the contributors and participants and not necessarily those of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations.

Dr. C. P. Idyll, Chairman of the Conference, helped in editing the report.
