| RESUMEN |
| El Grupo de Trabajo sobre Tecnología Pesquera de la Comisión de Pesca Continental para América Latina (COPESCAL) se reunió en la ciudad de San Salvador, El Salvador, del 7 al 10 de Octubre de 1985. Participaron 10 expertos en tecnología de captura de 10 países miembros de la COPESCAL y 6 observadores del país huesped. Las discusiones técnicas se desarrollaron acerca de tres temas principales: i) aplicación de la tecnología de captura en las pesquerías en aguas continentales; ii) necesidades regionales de capacitación en tecnología de captura y iii) embarcaciones pesqueras en uso en la región. Basados en la información proporcionada por los expertos participantes en la reunión acerca de los artes y métodos de pesca en uso en los países de la región, se programaron las actividades del Grupo de Trabajo para el próximo bienio cuyo principal objetivo es completar y diseminar la información disponible sobre el tema con el fin de favorecer el intercambio de la tecnología más apropiada para las pesquerías continentales en la región. Las listas de los participantes y de los documentos están dadas en apéndices. |
| ABSTRACT |
| The Working Party on Fishery Technology of the Commission for Inland Fisheries of Latin America (COPESCAL) held its second session in San Salvador, El Salvador, from 7 to 10 October 1985. The meeting was attended by 10 experts on fishing technology of 10 COPESCAL member countries and 6 observers of the host country. The technical discussions focussed on three main topics: i) application of fishing technology to inland fisheries; ii) regional training needs on fishing technology and iii) fishing craft. Based on the information provided by the experts participating in the meeting on fishing gear and methods in use in the countries of the region, the Working Party programmed the intersessional activities for the next biennium with the purpose to complete and disseminate the information available on the subject in order to promote the exchange of appropriate technology for inland fisheries in the region.
