 Under Rule XII-1 of the Rules of Procedures of the Committee for Inland Fisheries of Africa (CIFA) the Sub-Committee is required to elect its office bearers at the beginning of each session. 
3.Adoption of the Agenda and Arrangements for the SessionCIFA:DM/LV/84/1
4.Fishery Management and DevelopmentCIFA:DM/LV/84/7
 The Sub-Committee is invited to consider the research priorities for Lake Victoria based upon the resumé and discussions of the principal conclusions of the Symposium. It should also consider means for the implementation of research programmes concerning the Lake as a whole.

 The transfer of fish species into the Lake Victoria basin has potential impact and should be undertaken only after consultation among the riparian states have taken place. The Sub-Committee is invited to propose guidelines as to how such proposed transfers should be handled in the future.
5b.Fish Processing and Improving Quality ControlCIFA:DM/LV/84/5
 The countries of the region are striving to improve fish processing techniques and to institute some quality control measures. The Sub-Committee is invited to review this question and to offer suggestions and guidelines for future action. 
6.Technical Support Unit for the CIFA Sub-CommitteeCIFA:DM/LV/84/6
 The Sub-Committee will be informed of the progress made in the proposed EEC/FAO Regional Project for the Development and Management of the Fisheries of Lake Victoria.

8.Date and Place of the Fourth Session 
 Under Rule IV-2 of the Rules of Procedure of the Committee for Inland Fisheries of Africa (CIFA), the sessions of the Sub-Committee are convened by the Director-General, who decides on the place where they are to be held in consultation with the Chairman and the competent authorities of the host country, taking into account the views expressed by the Sub-Committee. The Sub-Committee is invited to consider the date and place of its Fourth Session in the light of any invitation extended by a member country.
