ABSTRACT

This document is the final formal report of the Fourth Session of the Sub-Committee for the Protection and Development of the Fisheries in the Sahelian Zone of the Committee for Inland Fisheries of Africa (CIFA). Major topics discussed were: the status of the inland fisheries of the Sahelian zone; traditional and modern fisheries management systems in the Sahel; scientific and technical information exchange system in the Sahelian zone; and cooperation with international organizations concerned with fisheries in the sub-region. The main decisions, directives and recommendations are listed in Appendix E.

Le présent document est le rapport définitif de la quatrième session du Sous-Comité pour la protection et le développement des pêches dans la zone sahélienne du Comité des pêches continentales pour l'Afrique (CPCA). Les principales questions examinées sont les suivants: situation des pêches continentales dans la zone sahélienne; systèmes d'aménagement traditionnels et modernes des pêches dans la zone sahélienne; système d'échange d'informations scientifiques et techniques dans la zone sahélienne; et coopération avec les organisations internationales s'occupant des pêches dans la sous-région. Les principales décisions, directives et recommandations figurent à l'Annexe E.
