Dear Members of the FAO Global Forum on Food Security and Nutrition,

I am pleased to share insights into our latest project, AELA, which I believe aligns closely with the goals of the FAO in promoting food security and sustainable agriculture.

AELA, the Agricultural Extensive Language Assistant, is an innovative Artificial Intelligence (AI) platform designed to revolutionize the agricultural sector. At its core, AELA is an AI-driven digital agricultural extension service, providing personalized data and insights to farmers globally. Our primary objective is to make expert agricultural knowledge more accessible, especially in remote and underserved regions.

Key Features of AELA:

Personalized Farming Guidance: AELA offers tailored advice on crop management, pest control, and best farming practices, considering local conditions and individual farmer needs.

Data-Driven Insights: Utilizing vast agricultural data, AELA provides actionable insights for optimizing crop yields, reducing waste, and improving overall farm efficiency.

Market Information: Farmers receive real-time market trends and pricing information, enabling them to make informed decisions about crop sales and distribution.

Weather Predictions and Alerts: Leveraging advanced weather forecasting technology, AELA helps farmers plan and protect their crops from adverse weather conditions.

Community and Expert Network: A platform for farmers to connect, share experiences, and seek advice from a global network of agricultural experts and peers.

*How AELA Aligns with FAO Goals:

Enhancing Food Security: By empowering farmers with knowledge and tools to increase productivity and reduce losses, AELA contributes directly to improving food security.

Promoting Sustainable Agricultural Practices: AELA encourages the adoption of sustainable farming methods, aligning with FAO's commitment to sustainable agriculture and environmental stewardship.

Supporting Smallholder Farmers: AELA is particularly beneficial for smallholder farmers, providing them with access to information and resources typically available only to larger operations.

Fostering Global Agricultural Knowledge Exchange: The platform facilitates the sharing of innovative farming techniques and experiences, fostering a global community of practice in line with FAO's vision.

We are excited about the potential of AELA to make a significant impact in the agricultural sector and contribute to the FAO's mission of achieving food security for all. We look forward to potential collaborations and support from organizations like the FAO to further enhance the capabilities and reach of AELA.

AELA will be launched on 17 January 2024 at the GFFA in Berlin.
