Sr. Brian Kithinji
I am currently working on sustainable agrifood systems and promoting entomophagy for human consumption and animal feeds.
Brian Kithinji is the Executive Director of Policy Action Initiative, with extensive experience in policy development, community engagement, and advocacy communications. He currently leads the organization’s research projects in food security, renewable energy, climate mobility, and climate resilience, geared at spearheading evidence-based decision-making in Kenya. Brian has authored policy briefs published by the Kenya Institute for Public Policy Research and Analysis (KIPPRA), AfriCatalyst, and various international scientific journals. Prior to joining Policy Action Initiative, he worked for CNBC Africa, reporting on Africa’s economic growth story and innovations.
Brian is currently part of the beVisioneers: The Mercedes-Benz Fellowship. He is also an alumnus of the Nairobi Summer School on Climate Justice (NSSCJ) Cohort III. In 2019, he completed the Poynter-Koch Media and Journalism Fellowship in the United States of America and the APLP-course at the Egypt National Training Academy in Cairo. He has also been invited as a speaker at prestigious events such as the Global Landscapes Forum 2023 and the 10th African Regional Forum on Sustainable Development in Addis Ababa.
