Mari Kangasniemi
Mari Kangasniemi is a Social Protection Officer in the Social Policies and Rural Institutions Division of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in Rome.
She joined FAO’s social protection team in August 2016. Her work involves impact evaluation and microsimulation of social protection and agricultural programmes as well as gender and social protection. She has previously worked on several aspects of labour markets, such as industrial relations in developing countries, migration, job satisfaction and productivity.
Prior to joining FAO she held positions several research institutions in Finland and the United Kingdom, among others in the Labour Institute for Economic Research in Helsinki, the National Institute of Economic and Social Research in London, London School of Economics and the University of Sussex.
Mari holds a PhD in economics from the University of Essex and an MSc in economics from the London School of Economics, and Master of Social Science from the University of Helsinki.
