I am working on:

supervising characterization, evaluation and propagation of local plant genetic resources whether collected or conserved in the national seed bank.

Dr. Khaldoun Othman Al Sane’ is a researcher and trainer at ‎National ‎Agricultural ‎Research Center ‎‎(NARC)‎, Directorate of Plant Biodiversity in JORDAN. He has been the Dept. Head of the Characterization and multiplication of Plant Genetic Resources Department. In addition, Al Sane’ has been working as an Editorial Team member of a number of international Journals and has published several scientific papers and chapters of a book (to be released soon in 2023), in addition to several more research papers submitted or currently in preparation on topics in Plant Science in general with a focus on the study of biodiversity and the characterization and evaluation of plant genetic resources, as well as the conservation and sustainable use of plant biodiversity (both in situ and ex situ) using various technical tools such as seed bank and ecosystem management practices. He is interested in global concerns like sustainability, adaptation, food security and the impact of climate change and population explosion on agricultural development. He executes collection missions of plants including local landraces and Crop Wild Relatives (CWRs).‎ In addition; he prepares several research proposals at both national and international levels. Moreover, he has participated in relevant conferences, training courses and workshops in Jordan and in Italy, Malaysia, Turkey, Tunisia, the Netherlands, Morocco and Egypt.

 

Dr. Khaldoun Al Sane’ was working as a Faculty member at King Khalid University (Saudi Arabia) for 4 years until the end of the academic year 2014-2015 during which he has been teaching many courses in Plant Science for both BSc and MSc students. He also has 4 years of experience using the e-learning system and the virtual classroom system during his work at the university, 3 years of experience in quality control and internal quality auditing, and 4 years of experience in quality and academic accreditation.

 

Al Sane’ has obtained his PhD from Italy in 2010, and the masters (2001) and bachelors (1997) degrees from Jordan University of Science and Technology with a grade of “excellent” and the first on the Department in both stages.
