Mme Yvonne Munyangeri
I am currently working on crops for nutrition and health in a changing climate, focusing on climate resilience of major crops that are key to nutritional needs of smallholder farmers in Africa. I’ am also working on building equitable climate-resilient African bean sector. In addition to that, I work on improving school feeding through the adoption of highly nutritious pulses and legumes in schools in Rwanda. I also work on building capacity of researchers, agriculture extensionists, seed companies, aggregators, agripreneurs and farmers on the use of climate services and climate smart agriculture to improve resilience to climate risks in the agriculture and food system sectors. In the past, I worked on fruit trees especially Indigenous Fruit trees to evaluate their nutrition and health benefits and role in reducing poverty, and I continue working on the role pulses and fruit trees on nutrition and health of small holder farmers in 15 countries in Africa.
