Dear Moderator

I strongly concur with the points made by a number of those commenting on this document - the issue of food and nutritional insecurity can only be addressed by taking a multi-disciplinary, multi-sectorial approach to integrated rural development. There is also great potential to enrich this process by including the much over-looked traditionally- and culturally-important indigenous food species which can be easily domesticated as new crop plants with which to diversify farming systems and kick-start the restoration of degraded agroecosystems.
