Nutrition-sensitive social protection
This webinar introduced the concept of nutrition-sensitive social protection. After a general introduction of the topic and the presentation of evidence of positive impacts on the four dimensions of food security, the lecturers shared country-specific examples of the Cash+ programme being implemented in Armenia and Kyrgyzstan.
The discussion that followed focussed on issues such as challenges to the sustainability of the programmes, the need to involve the health care sector, and the need to provide financial training to the recipients to ensure an efficient use of the grants.
