Ban Ki Moon at the Share Fair in Ouagadougou

Ban Ki Moon, Secretary-General of the United Nations visited the Share Fair co-organized by the Permanent Inter-State Committee for Drought Control in the Sahel (CILSS) and FAO.

The Share Fair took place from 5 to 7 November 2013 in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. Its objective was to reinforce the institutions’ knowledge on measures and practices improving resilience in the Sahel and West Africa.

More specifically, the Share Faire offered a space for mutually exchanging experiences, on reinforcing networks and partnerships and on how to best implement of good practices at the national and regional levels. The main topics discussed during the 3-day event were on the sustainable management of natural resources and climate change, pastoralism, prevention and mitigation of food and nutritional insecurity, risks, threats and crises management, and social protection.
