FAO is working on a Food Security Commitment and Capacity Profile to provide a quick but comprehensive view of the level of commitment and capacity of national authorities towards food and nutrition security. To gather feedback from practitioners on this new suggested approach, we would like to invite you to a short questionnaire.

As part of the preparations leading up to the Second International Conference on Nutrition (ICN2), you are invited to make comments on the zero draft of the political outcome document that is to be developed through a process driven by FAO’s and WHO’s Membership.

The FAO Statistics Division has recently developed a new suite of indicators for monitoring Food Security and Nutrition at the global level. The suite was presented in the State of Food Insecurity in the World 2013. Work is underway to try and summarize these indicators in an aggregated index.

Rural women everywhere play a key role in supporting their households and communities in achieving food and nutrition security, generating income, and improving rural livelihoods and overall well-being. It's up to all of us to make sure that their role is well represented in the Post 2015 development agenda. How would you contribute?

A two-day, face-to-face workshop, involving key FSN Forum members and FAO colleagues active in knowledge sharing was held in Rome (Italy) on 12-13 December 2013. The purpose was to allow for a constructive exchange of ideas aimed at gathering inputs for the continuous development of the Forum in general and for the upcoming medium term strategy in particular.

Following the recommendation of the 29th Session of the FAO Committee on Fisheries (COFI), FAO engaged in a consultative process to support the development of Voluntary Guidelines for Securing Sustainable Small-Scale Fisheries (SSF). We would hence like to invite you to this e-consultation to share your experiences and views on how the SSF Guidelines could be implemented effectively following their adoption by the FAO Committee on Fisheries in June 2014.

The outcome of the e-consultation will provide inputs for the FAO Secretariat to draft a holistic and inclusive global assistance programme taking your lessons learnt, best practices, plans and expectations into account.

The ability to access and consume nutritious food is to some extent an outcome of their membership and relationships with other members of society. This is especially true in times of crises. To identify and discuss success stories, challenges and way forward to achieving food and nutritional security, this discussion focuses on social relations and networks for food security and nutrition.

As part of the preparations leading up to the Second International Conference on Nutrition (ICN2), this online discussion invites you to share evidence and exchange views on how the private sector and civil society can contribute to improving diets and raising levels of nutrition, particularly of the poorest and most nutritionally vulnerable.

Онлайн-консультация была нацелена на выявление методов осуществления устойчивого управления почвами в регионе и внесение вклада в разработку совместной платформы Евразийского почвенного партнерства (ЕАПП) для обеспечения продовольственной безопасности в рамках Глобального почвенного партнерства (ГПП). В обсуждении приняли участие эксперты по почвенным ресурсам, которые провели конструктивный диалог по вопросам почвенного партнерства для обеспечения продовольственной безопасности, а также выявили приоритеты в отношении почвенных ресурсов для планирования потенциальный действий, направленных на устойчивое использование почв, которые смогут предпринять исследователи, администраторы, частный сектор, неправительственные организации и прочие заинтересованные стороны.
