Designing food security projects: Kapchorwa and Bukwo, Uganda
Food security is a key aspect of human development. The present article explores the shortcomings of agricultural interventions in two districts in eastern Uganda. Our study shows that these interventions have achieved only minor successes in relieving rural poverty and strengthening food security. Programmes that support prominent farmers with the aim of commercial development are unlikely to touch the poor. Food insecurity is related to the gendered division of agricultural work, control of cash income and the cycle of planting, harvest and crop sales for poor farmers. The present article recommends a set of effective subsistence-based strategies for poor farmers with an emphasis on the interests of women.

We establish Internet education and participation resources and tools including sharing on posts on our social media pages on which we have a following & interactions, writing environmental magazines with other Organizations.

- Environmental projects & innovations in areas of Restoration of Lake feeder streams, Plastic waste reduction in areas like Ggaba, Katosi, Nakasongola, e.t.c.
- waste for profit and energy, community sensitization and awareness on urban and rural waste management, development of international waste collection and supply chains to international communities, monitoring waste source flows and mitigation.
- Environmental-climate smart Agricultural projects in Collaboration with Kyamboga and Makerere University.
- Environmental Public Health, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene programs for rural communitiesEco-Tourism with (Bird conservation with Uganda Wild life Authority), Environmental Sensitization & awareness (With National Environmental Management Authority).
- Restoration of forest areas (Albertine region) and Charity community work (Peri- urban settlements and rural communities), etc.
- Waste for cash project among 36 districts in Uganda on L. Victoria and L. Kyoga with over 6000 membership of local community personnel reached.Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) project on promoting green building.
- Plastic pavers and roofing tiles produced for construction.
- Research on development of plastic and solar hybrid prototype boats for adaptation in fishing, tourism, e.t.c.
- Food security promotion through Black soldier fly production for farming systems like poultry, fish farming, e.t.c.

This Submission aims to raise awareness on how much ends up in the aquatic zones and how pollution affects us all, share the value of repurposing waste and bring an end to single-use plastic, in line with SDG 9 (industry, innovation and infrastructure), SDG 12 (responsible consumption and production), SDG 14 (life below water) and SDG 15 (life on land).
The boats created using locally available resources and low-tech solutions, underscoring the potential for its ideas and techniques to be easily emulated. According to the UN Environment Programme (UNEP, or UN Environment), only 9 percent of the 9 billion tons of plastic the world has produced has ever been recycled.
The majority of plastics are thrown away after a single use, resulting in billions of tons of plastic that ends up in landfills and in the environment. This aquatic debris threatens ecosystem viability, economic development and food security. UNEP’s Clean Seas Campaign engages governments, the public and private sector in the fight against pollution.
The project is focusing on ‘Innovative Solutions for Environmental Challenges and Sustainable Consumption and Production.
