A Fulbright Scholar, Principal Scientist and presently Heading the PME&KM Unit at ICAR-IISWC, Dehradun. Has 28-years of multi-disciplinary research/professional experience in natural resource management, soil-water conservation, watershed management, fisheries development, riverine, wetland, biodiversity/ecosystem conservation, and influences of traditional knowledge.

Contributing innovatively across multiple themes of sustainable farming systems, livestock/fisheries-based micro-enterprises for food, nutritional and livelihoods security to local people/communities through technological inputs, and effective outreach & community mobilization. The alternate farming systems/components introduced through participatory interventions became resilient/sustainable as evident from the changed scenarios observed & feedback received from beneficiaries. His contributions created far-reaching awareness on indigenous knowledge/wisdom, traditional farming/fishing, community-based fishing festivals (mound), & management needs of riverine resources among wide-range of communities/stakeholders, over 10-lakhs.

His strong pleas as founder Scientist/in-charge of fisheries science accommodated fisheries/aquaculture/livestock-based micro-enterprises & ecosystems management in national/international perspectives of SWC/NRM/IWM at IISWC. During 2016-18, analyzed impacts of LULCC on wetlands/water quality in Mid-West US using geospatial analytical tools/techniques/approaches. Presently, he holds four portfolios: research coordination & prioritization, outreach, knowledge management & science communication, conflict resolution & organizational stewardship and core research on prioritized areas of NRM. A passionate researcher who nucleates research ideas, team building, and inspires budding researchers/agri-entrepreneurs/farmers besides socializing S&T.

He has over 100 scientific/technical publications. Organized around 15 conferences/workshops/training etc. Deliberated in over 100 conferences/seminars/workshops and been a resource-person/special invitee in about 50 national/international seminars etc. Received 30 fellowships/awards/grants: Fulbright-Fellowship, Fulbright-Alumni-Award, 3-national-fellowships, etc.
