女士 Alashiya Gordes
Sustainable and circular bioeconomy, sustainable use of plastics in agriculture, climate risks management.
Alashiya Gordes is a Natural Resources Officer (Environmental Sustainability), focusing on mainstreaming environmental considerations in FAO’s portfolio overall as well as working specifically on agriplastics, bioeconomy and risk management.
She previously worked at IFAD as a Technical Specialist (Climate and Mainstreaming Results) and has also held prior roles at FAO, including as Natural Resources Officer (Monitoring and Evaluation) in the FAO-UNDP Integrating Agriculture in National Adaptation Plans (NAP-Ag) Programme. She has contributed to FAO’s engagement with the UNFCCC (in particular, the Koronivia Joint Work on Agriculture), the development of FAO’s first Climate Change Strategy in 2017, and normative work on Climate-Smart Agriculture, among other areas. Further experience includes with the Global Donor Platform for Rural Development in Germany and with the UNFCCC at COP19 in Poland. Alashiya holds an MSc in Environmental Policy from the University of Oxford, UK. She is a national of Cyprus and Germany and speaks English, German, French, Italian and Greek.
